Bur Shapes
The bur shapes are as follows:
Available Cuts:
|
Singlecut |
Doublecut |
Diamond Cut |
Chipbreaker |
Alumacut |
Recommended Use
Single Cut - general purpose tool designed for cast iron, steel, some copper & brass, and other ferrous materials. It will give good material removal & good workpiece finishes.
Double Cut - allows for rapid stock removal in harder materials. Reduced pulling action designed to improve operator control. Chip sizes are reduced & can be used at slower than normal speeds.
Diamond Cut - this is very effective in heat treated & tough alloy steels. It produces an extremely small chip. It offers good operator control w/ good stock removal at the surface of finish.
Chip Breaker - the addition of a chip breaker will reduce sliver size & improve operator control at a slightly reduced surface finish as compared to the Single Cut. Alumacut - for use in non-ferrous & non-metallic materials. Designed for rapid stock removal, with minimum chip loading.
